About the Program:

The Fellows and Tutors at Caedmon Honors College understand the importance of cultivating an academic culture that inspires students to pursue wisdom, virtue, and authentic Christian community. Students will be holistically mentored, not merely informed. Both the Gap Year and the Associate of Arts will emphasize the development of outstanding communication skills, critical thinking, and the lifelong pursuit of the true, the good, and the beautiful for the flourishing of the soul.

Study Opportunities:

Caedmon Honors College offers two programs of study, both of which are deeply rooted in the Great Western Tradition and informed by orthodox Christianity. Our courses are fully accredited through our academic partnership with Southeastern University.

In the fall of 2022, Caedmon will welcome students into The Armory, a Gap Year program that includes the following courses: Mere Christianity: A Survey of Essential Doctrine; Christian Apologetics I & II; Introduction to Philosophy; and Biblical Ethics I & II. In addition, two Imaginative Apologetics electives will be offered: C.S. Lewis in Literature and Film, and J.R.R. Tolkien in Literature and Film. All courses will be available to high school graduates for college credit or as survey courses. Due to curriculum overlap, the Gap Year may serve as a gateway to the Honors College AA program. Rising high school seniors are invited to apply to The Armory (for college credit or survey), and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

In the fall of 2023, Caedmon will launch the Associate of Arts in Great Texts of the Western Tradition. Against the fascinating backdrop of the Western Civilization timeline, students will be immersed in the Great Texts canon, which encompasses the most influential works of history, literature, theology, and philosophy from Antiquity through the Modern era. The curriculum will include courses dedicated to the Old and New Testaments as well as important works of the 21st century.
