Enroll in English Composition I or II at Southeastern University using an IEW course as your textbook. This is an asynchronous video-based class through SEU and requires the purchase and use of IEW's Structure and Style® for Students: Year 1 Level C Basic Plus package.

*This price does not include a once-per-semester technology fee of $175.

  • $50.00 application fee due immediately. The remainder of the tuition ($300.00) and the technology fee ($175.00) are due upon registration to the University.

  • Students must have at least a high school sophomore standing.

Enrollment and Registration Steps

1. Become a Christian Halls member and indicate you would like to take the IEW English Composition class by clicking on the link below and creating a MyHall Account.

2. Once you have created your account and are logged in, click on Browse Halls, search for IEW Virtual Hall, click on Details >, click on Join Hall.

3. You will receive an acceptance notification by email once the hall director has reviewed your request. Once accepted you will be able to login and view the tutorials available for you to enroll in. Enroll in the tutorial that corresponds with the course you want to take:

  • Composition 1: ENGL-1223

  • Composition 2: ENGL-1323

4. After you’ve joined the tutorial, there is a link on the left side of the screen in the Corresponding course section titled Student Application for Admission Link. To become an online student at the university click the link and complete the University application form.

4. Once accepted as a student, CHI and/or your director will take care of your class enrollment/registration.

5. Login to your SEU student account, and activate your SEU email, verify your student schedule in JICS, and access your course content through MyFire a week before class starts.

6. Complete the course by submitting your assignments on time. Receive your final grade on your college transcript at the end of the semester.

In IEW’s Structure and Style for Students: Year 1 Level C (SSS-1C), join Andrew Pudewa as he leads students on a writing journey using IEW’s proven approach. The curriculum provides clear daily assignments and includes vocabulary words and literature suggestions. The SSS-1C Basic Plus package includes all necessary materials to complete the CHI Dual Credit classes: Structure and Style for Students: Year 1 Level C and Fix It! Grammar: Level 5, 4th edition. 

*Purchase of IEW’s SSS-1C Basic Plus package is the textbook for the dual credit class and is an additional cost on top of the Dual Credit tuition and fees.

Structure and Style for Students Year 1 Level C Online Class - $329

IEW online offers live classes that prepare your students for dual enrollment. Learn from the experts! Visit IEW.com/online for fees and class schedules. These classes provide engaging and interactive live instruction, structured lessons with accountability, and timely feedback on weekly writing assignments.

After a student completes the SSS-1C IEW Online class, the student may use the graded papers with feedback as the foundation for completing the dual enrollment assignments.

Please note that the schedule and requirements for dual enrollment may vary slightly from the IEW Online schedule and requirements. The student is responsible to carefully read the assignments posted in the college’s learning platform before enrolling.

Option 2:

Tutoring from an IEW accredited instructor – prices vary

If your instructor is IEW accredited, you can be assured that your students are receiving writing instruction from a teacher who has demonstrated competence (Registered Level) and experience (Certified Level) in the Structure and Style® writing method. What units are covered in these classes?

English Composition I includes IEW Structure and Style® instruction through Unit 7, and English Composition II begins in Unit 7 and continues through Unit 9.

What are the course numbers?

The course numbers are as follows:

  • Southeastern English Composition I: ENGL 1223 (multiple sections offered, minimum of 10 students per section for class to "make")

  • Southeastern English Composition II: ENGL 1323 (multiple sections offered, minimum of 10 students per section for class to "make")

How is this class structured?

The class follows the video instruction (DVD or Forever Streaming) provided with your purchase of the Structure and Style for Students: Year 1 Level C Basic Plus package.

Is there a section that follows the IEW Online Class?

No, there will not be a specific section for IEW online students. Students may use assignments from IEW online but must carefully follow submission guidelines and directions in the Dual Credit course.

How are classes taught?

All classes are asynchronous, meaning that students can access course materials and submit their work through the university portals on their own schedule within a certain timeframe.

Live tutorials are available for additional support and guidance.

Credits earned from these courses are from reputable universities and can easily transfer.

There is a one-time membership fee of $50 to join CHI.

The tuition fee is $300 per semester.

The total cost for both classes and 6 credit hours is $825.00 at SEU.

Enrolling in the course does not include an online classroom component. Please note that optional online tutoring from either CHI or IEW incurs additional costs.
